Located in the heart of the Central Business District, Loong Dimsum offers a unique halal Chinese dining experience with a menu that blends traditional flavors with creative twists. The restaurant’s interior, inspired by ancient Chinese dynasties, sets an elegant yet inviting atmosphere—perfect for casual business lunches, family gatherings, or a special dinner.
During our visit, we sampled a variety of dishes, some of which were standout hits while others had room for improvement. Here’s our take on the meal

Our Order
Tiger Prawn Beancurd Roll
This was our favorite dish of the evening! The crispy beancurd skin wrapped around a fresh, juicy tiger prawn was perfectly executed. The accompanying wasabi sauce added a subtle kick that elevated the flavors without overpowering them. A must-order for any visit!

Signature Wok-Fried Yam Cake
A delightful mix of textures—soft yam cake with a crispy exterior, tossed with mini shrimp for an extra crunch. The wok hei (breath of the wok) aroma was prominent, and the slight spiciness made it an addictive dish. Highly recommended!
Tiger Prawn Fried Rice
The rice was well-cooked, with a strong wok hei flavor, and the prawns were fresh and generously portioned. Though listed as a single serving, it was easily enough for two. A solid choice for those craving a classic fried rice with a premium touch.

Shanghai Fried Fen Pi
This dish reminded us of char kuay teow, but with a chewier texture thanks to the sweet potato noodles. The tiger prawns added a nice seafood element, making it a tasty and satisfying noodle option.
Crispy Pumpkin with Salted Egg
The dish itself was delicious—sweet pumpkin coated in rich salted egg yolk. However, it arrived very late, almost at the end of our meal. Better timing would improve the experience.

Loong’s Caramelised Ginger Chicken
The first few bites were enjoyable, but the sweetness and overpowering ginger taste became too much after a while. Like the pumpkin dish, it came after we had finished our mains, which affected our enjoyment. A milder ginger profile and better serving sequence would help.
Lobster Broth Pumpkin Dumpling
A visually Instagram-worthy dish with a syringe for DIY lobster broth injection. While the presentation was fun, the taste was nothing extraordinary. Good for photos, but not a must-try for flavor alone.
Final Thoughts
Loong offers a unique halal Chinese dining experience with some standout dishes (especially the beancurd prawn roll and wok-fried yam cake). While the flavors are generally good, the timing of dish arrivals could be improved to enhance the overall meal flow.
The menu is not extensive, but it features uncommon items you won’t find in typical dim sum place, making it worth a visit for those seeking something different.
